«ОТ АНТИЧНОСТИ ДО СОВРЕМЕННОСТИ»: VIII ЕЖЕГОДНАЯ МЕЖДУНАРОДНАЯ КОНФЕРЕНЦИЯ

28-31 декабря 2010 г. в Афинах прошла очередная, восьмая по счету, конференция «От античности до современности» (8^th Annual International Conference on History: From Ancient to Modern), организованная Центром исторических исследований Афинского Научно-образовательного Института (History Research Unit of the Athens Institute for Education and Research – ATINER). Конференция отличалась максимально широким охватом тем. При этом значительное внимание было уделено проблемам древней истории и рецепции античности в последующие эпохи, а также общим теоретическим проблемам исторической науки. Обсуждения проводились после представления докладов по каждой сессии. Планируется издание материалов конференции в одном или нескольких сборниках.

Из докладов, касавшихся антиковедческих и смежных проблем, можно отметить доклад П. Андреевой (Болгария) о празднествах в римской провинции Фракия, М. Дилона (Австралия) о пророческом даре Солона, М. Эйсмена (США) об атрибуции керамических сосудов афинской мастерской Лидоса, Л. Галэнд (Австралия) о византийских императрицах Зои и Феодоре, М. Миллера (Канада) о вариантах восстановления лакуны в повествовании Страбона о городах средиземноморского побережья Испании, Р. Миолы (США) о рецепции наследия Аристофана в Англии XVI-XVII вв., Д. Пауэрса (США) о походе Дария в Европу в 513 г. до н.э., В. Провенсэла (Канада) о вступительной части «Истории» Геродота, Д. Вика (США) об афинских философских школах в эпоху поздней Римской республики. Весьма интересным показался также доклад П. Корфилд (Великобритания) об истоках современной меритократии, поскольку обнаруживаются интересные параллели в применении теории меритократии при изучении истории XIX в. и истории Римской республики. Наконец, необходимо отметить вызвавший огромный интерес всех присутствовавших общетеоретический доклад А. Гоффа о проблемах самоидентификации истории как науки.
